When I lost the original file for this project, I faced a challenge: the title was misaligned to the left and cut off. To fix this, I had to rely on the Content-Aware tool and the Smudge tool to adjust the text and make it legible again. While I managed to restore it, this was an earlier project in my editorial design journey, so I’m considering redesigning the cover in the future.
The cover concept itself draws heavily from Egyptian mythology, and I wanted the design to reflect that influence. I chose a worm’s-eye view to give the pyramids a grand, almost monumental presence. The pyramids are angled so that they point directly at the sun, which is where the title is placed—this positioning creates a visual flow that guides the viewer’s eye toward the center of the design. The sun symbolizes enlightenment and divine power, while the pyramids are deeply rooted in Egyptian culture and mysticism.
To further enhance the theme, I used clouds in the composition to represent heaven. The soft, ethereal nature of the clouds contrasts with the rigid, imposing forms of the pyramids, suggesting a connection between the earthly and the divine.
Overall, the cover aims to visually encapsulate the mystique and grandeur of Egyptian mythology, while also serving as a hint to the deeper themes within the novel.
