SportSlam, (Cover Blockout Sketch)

This is an early cover blockout sketch for SportSlam , a Crime / Action / Sci-Fi / Fantasy project centered on an illegal underground sports-fighting league.

The illustration uses simple shapes and flat block colors to separate characters, test silhouettes, and establish composition. Each android fighter is isolated by color and placed on its own layer, allowing for fast iteration and clear visual readability before moving into final linework and rendering.

SportSlam follows eight human androids forced to fight in a mob-controlled league to keep their respective sports clubs out of the hands of a crime boss known as Nike . Combat revolves around elemental sports equipment , transforming exaggerated athletic gear into fantasy-grade weapons.

Visually and tonally, the project is inspired by the bold shapes, expressive simplicity, and character-forward design seen in the work of Pendleton Ward (Adventure Time , Bravest Warriors ) and Todd Kauffman (Total Drama Island ), blended with darker crime and sci-fi themes.

This sketch focuses on:

Character lineup and height contrast

Color-based character separation

Gesture and weapon placement

Cover-style composition over finished detail

SportSlam is part of my shared Bee Terrific Media universe and is currently in development as a Twine game .

🧠 Development Notes This is a layout and concept pass only. Line refinement, facial detail, lighting, textures, and effects will be added in later stages.

Feedback is welcome—especially on silhouette clarity, color separation, and overall cover readability .
