Hi Stingers,

I’d like for you to meet Daymond Pack, the youngest of Robert Pack’s kids. He’s a werewolf, born and raised in Louisiana by his mom. In Pack Matters, our action-adventure horror comic, Daymond and his paternal half-siblings become werewolves and search for their missing father amid a statewide Pack war between the strongest wolf packs in Louisiana. The big question is, will they learn to get along as a pack, or will they succumb to their own predatory desires?

The first book follows Daymond, who is the most laid-back of the siblings but also the most violent when provoked. He’s currently in juvenile detention, which gives you an idea of how he handles himself when things get tense. His laid-back tone is inspired by Michelangelo from Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles, but his violent tendencies come from Hisoka in Hunter x Hunter. Daymond is playful, loves having fun, and is smarter than he lets on—though when pushed, he can be extremely dangerous. In his werewolf form, he can even create plasma blasts! Each monster in Pack Matters has what’s called a blood ability, which is their own unique superpower. For Daymond, it’s those plasma blasts.

The series pulls inspiration from stories like The Incredible Hulk, Black Bullet, Darkstalkers, and even war films like Saving Private Ryan. The Pack war is a brutal, large-scale conflict, but the real heart of the story lies in the relationship between Daymond and his siblings. They’re forced to work together, even though their personalities and predatory instincts clash. Will they come together as a pack, or will their differences tear them apart?

Alongside the main comic series, there’s also a novel series, rich with Louisiana mythology and Voodoo influences, since the story takes place in Louisiana. And for those of you who like something a little more light-hearted, we also have a shorts series that’s more slice-of-life and cartoony in nature. I actually used AI to help redesign the main characters, and then I drew this piece myself on my Cintiq 16 using Photoshop. I also handled the coloring.

If you’d like to know more about Pack Matters or Daymond Pack and his siblings, drop me a comment! I’m excited to share more about this world with you.
